Artistic mural decoration: techniques and approaches
Both the project and the execution of these works are carefully planned out, to harmonically adhere to the historical architecture.
Ceilings are first designed on paper and then replicated onto the wall, using natural colors and materials, made following the antique recipes.
Just like centuries ago, natural lime putty is used as a base for earth colors and pigments, replicating the artistic techniques of the mural decorations of the past with full respect of the specific time period.
After the project’s approval, walls are prepared with a natural base.
The sketched layout is then replicated onto the wall with a technique that dates back to the 1300 called “pouncing”.
